Arild Drivdal joined IREX in July 2012 as Chief of Party on the Mozambique Media Strengthening Program (MSP). The program's aim is to improve the sustainability and effectiveness of the Mozambican media through professional capacity building, business development, journalism education, community radio, and advocacy. Prior to joining IREX, Arild was working as Communication Specialist and Spokesperson for UNICEF in Mozambique and, before that, as Country Representative of PSI/Mozambique, where he focused on social marketing and behavior change communications. His work experience includes the private sector, the NGO sector and the UN, with a focus on communication and media. At UNICEF, Arild worked extensively with the Mozambican media community and helped implement a university course on Child Rights and Journalism. Arild has an MBA degree from London Business School and an MPH degree from Harvard. He speaks English, German, Norwegian, Portuguese, and Spanish.
