Cassandra Herrman is a producer and director who has worked with PBS, Al Jazeera, the New York Times, MSNBC and National Geographic. Her films have screened­ at numerous film festivals, including SXSW and Sundance, and have been nominated for three national Emmy awards. Her forthcoming feature documentary, FRAMED, follows a young American in  Africa  and a Kenyan activist in the US as they question the mission to “save” Africa, and investigate the consequences of our good will. She is currently producing and directing immersive journalism experiences for Emblematic Group, with special focus on a multi-film collaboration with PBS' FRONTLINE supported by the Knight foundation. She recently co-directed After Solitary, a VR experience that was honored with the Grand Jury Prize at SXSW 2017 for best room scale VR, the top prize at the World VR Forum, and the award for immersive storytelling at ONA 2017.
