The relationship between foreign correspondents and fixers is central to the work done by major news organizations. But how much do these two parties really understand each other’s roles, responsibilities and needs? To answer that question, the University of British Columbia's Global Reporting Centre commissioned the largest survey of fixers and correspondents ever undertaken. The GRC's findings will be presented in this session, with reaction by a longtime foreign producer from CNN and a veteran fixer from Guinea Bissau.
