How to mine data for storytelling: Conducting data interviews using data visualisation

We can use data for storytelling when we understand how to interrogate the information contained within a dataset. Technology has made data a tangible artefact, which can be worked with in different ways, shaped in different forms, and seen from different perspectives. This session exposes participants to using data visualisation as a platform for mining data for stories. This will include the data interview (intertwined with the fundamentals of storytelling), a demonstration of using data visualisation for mining, exploration and analysis, and also a look at some of the online resources and existing tools that can be used to explore data in this form.

Note: Data Labs have 38 seats with computers. These workshops may reach capacity quickly, so we recommend you arrive early.
