Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

What are the keys to a successful startup? How can serious newsrooms diversify revenue? What innovative practices will provide a strong base and financial structure to do the journalism you want to do? Doing great journalism isn't enough -- your group's success will also depend on good management, sound accounting, determined fundraising, audience engagement, and diversified revenue. Here are invaluable tips from veterans in the field, with lessons from both successful nonprofits and for-profits. We'll have a lightning round of examples, including South Korea's 30,000-member broadcast nonprofit Newstapa, the UK's Bristol Cable community outreach model, Tunisia's online multimedia site Inkymedia, India's Health DataLeads, the Philippines' PCIJ, and the always innovative RSF.
