Fabiola Torres is an investigative journalist from Peru, ICFJ Knight Fellow and member of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ). She is co-founder and editor of Ojo-publico.com, a nonprofit newsroom based in Lima, and co-author of “The Swiss Army Knife for Journalists: Digital research tools at the big data era,” a data journalism guide for Hispanic investigative reporters. Under Fabiola's leadership, OjoPúblico's team published the Big Pharma Project, a transnational investigation that brings out to light the methods of the pharmaceutical industry to stretch out their monopolies in Latinoamerica. She was also the project coordinator of Memoria Robada, a crossborder investigation on the trafficking of the Latin American cultural patrimony, which was recognised with the Third Prize at the Latin American Investigative Journalism Awards in 2016. Fabiola's previous work experience includes eight years at Peru's El Comercio newspaper. She joined the investigative team and worked on stories ranging from political corruption to social and health issues, such as human rights abuses from international pharmaceutical companies in Peru. Fabiola is co-founder of Hacks/Hackers Lima and was Kiplinger Fellow 2015 in Digital Journalism at Ohio State University.
