Dr. George N. Mwita holds a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He also holds a Master of Science in Applied Statistics and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (statistics) and Computer Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and technology. He has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Monitoring & Evaluation of media development projects.

Before his appointment to Tanzania Media Foundation (TMF) as the M&E Manager, Dr. Mwita was the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer at the Education Centre for the Advancement of Women (ECAW- Kenya), a non-governmental organization that created a ‘safe’ space for women in terms of elimination of FGM and development of women empowerment programmes aimed at alleviating poverty amongst women. ECAW was the implementing partner of UNWOMEN, Gender and Governance project

Dr. Mwita has also worked with other recognized international organizations such as Population Council and International Fellowship Programs (IFP) as a Research Assistant. He has expertise in managing research teams, monitoring and evaluation of programs including the development of M&E plans, M&E methodologies and indicators; undertaking baseline surveys, process, mid-term, and end-term evaluations.  Dr. George Mwita has deep knowledge of the development sector and has worked closely with senior officials from country governments and a multitude of international and donor agencies.
