Nadine Jurrat is project manager at the Research and Evaluation department at DW Akademie, focusing on strategies and evaluations of DW Akademie’s projects and on research into media development topics. She has over 15 years of experience in international media development, focusing on support for independent media in conflict zones, fragile states and closed societies. Previously, she was Head of Programs at the London-based Rory Peck Trust and worked as an independent consultant for international media development organizations. Her publications include “Mapping Digital Media: Citizen Journalism and the Internet” (2011) for the Open Society Foundations and “Media Development in Regions of Conflict, Transitional Countries, and Closed Societies” (2016) for DW Akademie. Nadine Jurrat trained at the London School of Journalism and holds a B.A. (hons) in French and Hispanic Studies from Queen Mary University as well as an M.A. in Area Studies (Latin America) from the University of London with a special focus on development, international politics and economics.
